LEARNING TREE EXPANDS PARTNERSHIP WITH THE IEEE
OFFERING ADDITIONAL BENEFITS TO MEMBERS
RESTON, VA (October 18, 2007) Learning Tree International (NASDAQ NM: LTRE) and the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) have announced an expansion of their partnership through the IEEE’s Educational Partners Program. These benefits are in addition to the tuition rate discount which is exclusive to IEEE members.
The enhanced benefits for IEEE members are focused primarily on helping them satisfy their continuing education requirements. Learning Tree courses are accredited by the American Council on Education (ACE) for college credit and by The International Association of Continuing Education and Technology (IACET) for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) that can be used towards maintaining engineering licenses. They are also accredited by major universities, including the University of Alabama, the University of Maryland at Baltimore and Ohio State.
For those members whose goals include project management, many Learning Tree courses qualify for Professional Development Units (PDUs) through PMI. Chris Salicco, Business Manager for IEEE Educational Activities, said, "As an organization, IEEE wants to provide the resources that can help our members continue to flourish and move forward in their careers, so having Learning Tree as a resource and training partner is perfectly aligned with those goals."
Learning Tree also provides assistance to IEEE members in securing financial aid. As Don Berbary, President of Learning Tree, explains it, "With our experience, we can support IEEE members in ways that no other training provider can, especially in the area of education benefits. For example, Learning Tree can help members navigate the processes and applications to access education benefits from their employer or public programs like the GI Bill or the Workforce Investment Act."
